If you mean a recipe/diet that can restore eyesight to how it was at age 20, there unfortunately isn’t a food recipe proven to reverse normal age-related vision changes or restore lost vision.
However, nutrition can support eye health and help reduce the risk of certain eye diseases. A useful daily approach is:
Eye-health food bowl
- 1 cup spinach or kale
- ½ cup blueberries
- ½ cup red or orange bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds or walnuts
- 3–4 oz salmon or sardines
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- Lemon juice, garlic, and herbs for flavor
How to prepare:
Wash and chop the vegetables. Lightly sauté the spinach/kale in olive oil for 2–3 minutes. Add the bell pepper and cook another 2 minutes. Serve with baked or grilled salmon, then add blueberries and pumpkin seeds/walnuts on the side. Finish with lemon juice.
These foods provide nutrients such as lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are associated with eye health.
