Yes. A simple 2-ingredient reed diffuser can be made with:
- 100 ml fragrance oil — preferably a diffuser-safe fragrance oil or essential-oil blend.
- 100 ml diffuser base — a commercial reed-diffuser base gives much better wicking than plain water.

Ratio: 1:1
- Pour 100 ml diffuser base into a clean glass measuring container.
- Add 100 ml fragrance oil.
- Stir gently for 1–2 minutes until completely combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a clean 100–200 ml glass diffuser bottle.
- Insert 5–8 rattan reeds.
- Leave the reeds for about 30–60 minutes, then flip them over so the saturated ends are exposed.
- Flip the reeds every 5–7 days for a stronger scent.
Important
If by “2 ingredients” you mean fragrance oil + a carrier such as DPG, a common starting formula is 70% diffuser base/DPG + 30% fragrance oil. For a 100 ml batch:
- 70 ml DPG/diffuser base
- 30 ml fragrance oil
This is generally a better starting point than 50:50 because too much fragrance oil can make the mixture overly strong and may affect wicking.
Do not use water as one of the two ingredients unless you are making a different type of water-based diffuser; oil and water do not properly mix.
